Premises liability: Did leaking roof cause slip-and-fall?

Nevada business owners may face lawsuits if they fail to maintain their premises in a manner that will not pose safety risks to members of the public. A premises liability lawsuit was recently filed against a Wal-Mart store in another state. The plaintiff, who filed in his personal capacity and also as the representative of his deceased wife's estate, alleges a 2014 slip-and-fall accident accelerated his wife's health decline and led to her death.

Auto accident on US 95 in Nevada leaves 3 dead and 3 injured

The level of danger associated with driving on roads anywhere in the country depends on many factors. Nevada Highway Patrol received a report of an auto accident in Humboldt County on a recent Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers found a devastating accident scene involving two vehicles and six people. The dangerous factor in this accident appears to have been a wrong-way driver.

Premises liability: Lawsuits may follow E. coli outbreak

Many Nevada parents of young children keep a lookout for educational trips on which to take their children. However, as was proved in another state recently, some facilities could pose life-threatening risks. Facilities at which live animals are present have been identified as high-risk areas. The Centers for Disease Control published recommendations in 2001 for safe operations at venues where there may be direct contact between visitors and live animals. If disregarding of these warnings leads to personal injuries to members of the public, facility owners may face premises liability lawsuits.

Hummer hit-and-run motor vehicle crash, kills motorcyclist

Car accidents are a daily occurrence in Nevada. A recent motor vehicle crash involved an SUV and a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one person and serious injury to another. The SUV driver is at large in this fatal hit-and-run incident. Once the driver is found, the injured victim and the family of the deceased victim will have a chance to pursue lawsuits against the driver and anyone else with an ownership interest in the SUV.
