Hummer hit-and-run motor vehicle crash, kills motorcyclist

Car accidents are a daily occurrence in Nevada. A recent motor vehicle crash involved an SUV and a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one person and serious injury to another. The SUV driver is at large in this fatal hit-and-run incident. Once the driver is found, the injured victim and the family of the deceased victim will have a chance to pursue lawsuits against the driver and anyone else with an ownership interest in the SUV.

The Saturday night accident took place in east Las Vegas Valley. According to police, a 21-year-old man was operating the motorcycle eastbound when a Hummer SUV traveling westbound attempted to turn left in front of the cycle. The two vehicles collided, and the motorcyclist and his passenger were thrown from the bike.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the deceased man. The driver of the Hummer SUV is said to have fled the scene on foot, though a passenger in that vehicle remained at the accident scene. The police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run accident and are looking for any information on the SUV driver.

Victims of motorcycle accidents are often injured, or worse. In the tragic event that a Nevada motorcycle driver or passenger is killed in a motor vehicle crash where the other driver is deemed negligent, the victim's family retains the right to sue the driver for wrongful death. A successfully presented claim could result in monetary relief for the surviving family members that may help cover costs incurred due to the fatal crash.
