Customer files premises liability claim after fall in store

Owners of commercial properties in Nevada are responsible for the safety of their premises, both inside and outside. All hazardous areas must be identified as soon as they appear. Failing to rectify dangerous areas -- or post clear warnings of the dangers -- may lead to slip and fall or other accidents that could result in premises liability claims.

Drunk driver sentenced after causing death of 5-year-old girl

When a Nevada grandmother took her two grandchildren for a walk on Jan. 2, 2014, she could not have been prepared for what would happen. Her 5-year-old granddaughter was riding her tricycle when a 53-year-old woman backed her vehicle out from a driveway into the street. The young girl was knocked off her tricycle and died from the injuries she suffered. It was subsequently determined that a drunk driver caused the child's death.

Teenager killed, 2 others injured in auto accident on U.S. 95

The Southern Command of the Nevada Highway Patrol reported the 57th fatal car accident in its area this year, bringing the total number of deaths to 63. This auto accident reportedly involved a car and a semi truck. Unfortunately, when big rigs are involved in a crash, the occupants of passenger vehicles have little chance of survival or escaping severe injuries.

Teenager who beat cancer killed in alleged drunk driving accident

Pedestrians in Las Vegas are always at risk along the roadways, but even more so during this time of the year. A Nevada man was recently arrested by North Las Vegas Police after he allegedly caused a fatal accident. A police report indicates that the apparent drunk driving accident happened in bright daylight soon after noon on a recent Tuesday.

Jogger suffers serious dog bites while owner takes no action

Irresponsible pet owners in Nevada and other states place the public at risk. Dog bites or attacks by other animals can cause serious harm that can be avoided if pet owners follow a few fundamental rules. These include teaching the animal to respond to the owner's commands, restraining it and ensuring secure property fences.
