Nevada auto accident sends 3 to the hospital

Negligent driving on the busy Nevada roads can have devastating consequences. Although some victims of an auto accident can suffer severe injuries, others may suffer non-life-threatening injuries, such as bone fractures, that still require hospitalization and incur high medical costs. Injured victims may suffer further financial damages if they are unable to return to work while they are recuperating.

Nevada Highway Patrol investigators are working to determine whether impairment played a role in a recent Sun Valley accident. An accident report indicates that a 60-year-old Reno resident was southbound on Sun Valley Boulevard on a recent Thursday morning. For unknown reasons, he allowed his pickup truck to drift across the center of the roadway and into the lanes of the northbound traffic.

The pickup truck smashed head-on into a southbound sedan that was driven by a 21-year-old man. Reportedly, the drivers of both the vehicles and a passenger in the sedan were transported to a hospital. Other than reporting that their injuries were not life-threatening, no information about the severity of their injuries was published.

The injured victims of this auto accident may find it difficult to cope with the unanticipated medical bills and possibly also lost wages. However, the driver and passenger of the sedan may pursue financial relief through the Nevada judicial system. With sufficient proof of negligence against the pickup truck driver, personal injury claims may be filed in a civil court. If such a claim is successfully presented and the court determines financial liability, all documented claims for financial and emotional damages will be considered.
