Auto accident: 326 lives were lost on Nevada roads last year

The Nevada Department of Public Safety and the Department of Transportation recently hosted the Nevada Traffic Safety Summit. They set a goal to lower the number of fatalities on Nevada roads by 50 percent by the year 2030. Reportedly, auto accident deaths totaled 32,000 people in the Unites States in 2015.

Motorcyclist dies when alleged negligent driver fails to yield

Motorcycle riders in Nevada put their lives on the line whenever they are out on the road. Unfortunately, operators of motor vehicles often fail to keep a lookout for motorcycles. A single inconsiderate action by a negligent driver can have fatal consequences for a motorcyclist.

Premises liability suit may follow girl's injury at carnival

People in Nevada and other states may not even be aware that they put their lives on the line when they go on rides at entertainment parks and carnivals. The organizers of a carnival in another state may be facing a premises liability claim following an incident in which an 11-year-old girl suffered critical injuries. A safety consultant reportedly said the ride from which the girl fell has a history of causing injuries.

Alleged drunk driver runs away after crash that kills 2

Losing loved ones in a wreck is extremely traumatic. However, learning that an alleged drunk driver caused their deaths can be even more distressing. Two people died in one of the recent alleged drunk driving accidents that was reported by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Officers said it occurred in the city of Sparks in Washoe County on a recent Saturday night.

Alleged negligent supervision blamed for toddler's brain injury

Many Nevada parents find it difficult to leave their children at day care centers because of regularly reported incidents of injuries or abuse at such facilities. A day care facility in another state is facing a lawsuit alleging negligent supervision after a December incident in which a television fell on a 23-month-old boy. The parents claim that the child suffered a serious brain injury when he was struck by the television.
