Suspected drunk driver causes death of 2 Nevada residents

When loved ones are killed in car accidents, the surviving family members are often burdened with overwhelming medical and end-of-life expenses, along with emotional issues typical of such circumstances. Two Nevada families are likely going through difficult times after the deaths of a driver and passenger in a crash that was allegedly caused by a suspected drunk driver. The accident reportedly happened on a recent Saturday evening.

An accident report that was prepared by the Reno police showed that they were called to the scene of the crash shortly after 8 p.m. A preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that a driver of a northbound vehicle on a local roadway allegedly disregarded a red light. He smashed into an eastbound car in the intersection, causing it to roll over before landing on its roof in an adjacent field.

That car was occupied by two Sparks residents -- a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman. Sadly, the impact of the crash killed both, and their deaths were pronounced at the accident scene. Officers noted that the driver of the other car seemed impaired, and he was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said this Nevada man would be identified upon his release from the hospital, and drunk driving charges may be filed at that time. In the meantime, the Reno Police Department continues its investigation into the accident that is suspected to have been caused by a drunk driver. The surviving family members of the deceased individuals may exercise their rights to pursue wrongful death claims in a civil court. Utilizing the services of an experienced wrongful death attorney may ease the navigation of such a claim.
