Motorcyclist injured, crash blamed on allegedly negligent driver

Rising populations across the state of Nevada equates to more and more vehicles sharing the road. Navigating these crowded roadways can be a challenge. Today's drivers face an abundance of distractions that can take focus away from road. Under any circumstances, a negligent driver on overcrowded roadways increases the risk of an motor vehicle accident. A pickup truck driver was recently arrested after an accident in Sparks caused injuries to a motorcyclist.

According to reports, a motorcycle was traveling west on a busy street in Sparks and collided with a pickup truck. Police believe the driver of the truck was making a U-turn and pulled into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Witnesses say the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene after the collision. Not long after the accident, officers were able to locate the driver of the pickup and placed him under arrest. Police charged the driver with leaving the scene of a crash causing substantial bodily harm. Other charges included failing to maintain a travel lane, a red light violation and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Unfortunately, not all Nevada drivers are careful and focused behind the wheel these days. Legal action can be taken when a person is injured in an accident caused by a negligent driver. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in much-needed compensation to the victim that can be used to cover medical expenses as well as other financial losses.
