Local police are still investigating the particulars of a crash that claimed the life of one man and sent another three people to the hospital in critical condition. Las Vegas law enforcement reports the car accident happened early in the morning of June 30. No arrests have yet been made in connection with this accident.
Reports indicate a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old woman was travelling east when her vehicle struck a curb and left the road. Her vehicle crashed into a parked pickup truck. A 43-year-old passenger in the woman’s car was rushed to a local hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead.
A second passenger in the 18-year-old’s vehicle, a 46-year-old man, was also rushed to hospital and was described as being in severe condition. Both drivers were transported to the hospital as well with injuries described as being life-threatening. There is no word on the condition of any of the injured parties as of this writing. The police investigation is ongoing, and as it progresses, criminal charges may well be forthcoming.
While no criminal charges have yet been filed in this car accident, Las Vegas law requires drivers to be conscientious and careful on state roads. Considering the facts of the accident as they stand, the 18-year-old driver may be held accountable for the damage and injuries sustained therein. The next-of-kin of the deceased victim may choose to file a wrongful death suit against her, and the other injured parties would also be entitled to file personal injury suits in Nevada civil court.
