A driver will face charges for drunk driving after a serious collision took the life of two women. The drunk driving accident occurred as a vehicle was struck while trying to make a U-turn at an intersection. Nevada law enforcement officers arrested the driver who hit the turning vehicle on suspicion of drunk driving.

The force of the collision pushed the turning car, with two women inside, over to the side of the road. The other vehicle flipped over, and, despite the extensive damage to the vehicle, the driver of that vehicle survived. Police believe that the surviving driver was speeding, in addition to suspecting him of driving drunk at the time of the deadly collision.

This particular accident underlines the severity of what can happen when an alleged drunk driver gets behind the wheel. Erratic behavior, such as excessive speeding, while not exclusive to drunk drivers, places other drivers and passengers at risk for serious injury or death. Drivers who are reckless, negligent or drunk may be held accountable for their actions.

A Nevada drunk driving accident can cause serious damage, physical and financial pain, and emotional trauma. Families and victims are often left with costly medical bills, lost wages from missed work and other expenses. While the effects of such an accident will be felt for many years, a personal injury or wrongful death claim may be a practical and beneficial course of action. A family can better understand its specific options by seeking a legal opinion regarding its individual case.
