A terrible accident on Interstate 80 in Nevada recently seriously injured two people. The motor vehicle crash involved a car and a motorcycle and happened at 1:26 a.m. on June 17, 2015. Both the husband and wife were thrown from the motorcycle in the accident.

The accident happened when a motorcycle headed west on Interstate 80 was clipped in the rear by a car. The motorcycle was pulling a small trailer, and after the car clipped it, the car overturned and blocked a portion of the interstate. The officials with the Nevada Highway Patrol arrested the man driving the car due to suspected impairment although the cause of the impairment was not immediately known.

Both the husband and wife, who were from Ohio, were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center. The husband had serious injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. His wife also had serious injuries, but her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Officials closed the interstate for a short time so that CareFlight could land and take the victims of this crash to the hospital.

The Nevada Highway Patrol officials were continuing the investigation of this motor vehicle crash, and the driver of the car may be charged with some type of impairment. The victims can speak to an attorney who focuses on personal injury to help guide them through their options. If the driver of the car is convicted of a crime, it will help the couple if they decide to pursue a civil suit in a Nevada court to seek damages and money for medical costs; if needed, any surviving relatives can seek to claim recompense for final expenses should one of the motorcyclists pass away as a result of his or her injuries.
