It is not hard to see that motorcyclists are much more exposed to the hazards of the road than other drivers. Motorcycles are harder to see, and motorcyclists commonly suffer moderate to life-threatening injuries in the unfortunate event they become involved in motor vehicle accidents. Sadly, a recent motor vehicle crash in Nevada involving a man on a motorcycle resulted in his death.

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, a crash occurred between a motorcycle and minivan. According the Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash took place on the off-ramp from highway U.S. 95. One passenger in the minivan was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist was in critical condition when he was taken to a hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead.

Authorities have not stated whether the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The Clark County Coroners office identified the motorcyclist, but the cause of death is pending. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.

Losing a loved one in a motor vehicle crash is extremely upsetting for the surviving family and friends. If the accident was caused by the negligence of another driver, the surviving family may have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the negligent party. An experienced personal injury lawyer can fight for compensation in a civil court that can help pay for medical costs and funeral expenses as well as provide a sense that justice has been served.
