As roadways become more and more crowded in the state of Nevada, the chances of accidents occurring are drastically increasing. Unlike automobile drivers, motorcyclists are more exposed to the hazards and dangers typical of modern roadways. Motorcycles are also more difficult to see than cars or trucks, contributing to the likelihood of an accident. Because motorcyclists are so exposed, accidents involving motorcycles typically have fatal consequences. Sadly, this was the case in a recent motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Las Vegas motorcyclist.
According to reports, the accident involved a car, an SUV and a motorcycle. Reports indicate that the car passed through a stop sign, then collided with the motorcycle. The force of impact then caused the car to collide with an SUV that was traveling the opposite direction.
Judging by accident reports, it appears the driver of the car may not have seen the motorcycle and proceeded through the stop sign. Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of the motorcyclist. The driver and passenger of the car were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, while there were no injuries sustained to the only two occupants of the SUV.
With these type of accidents occur more frequently on today’s crowded roadways, it is important to know that Nevada residents have options at their disposal that can ease the pain and suffering involved with the death of a loved one in a motor vehicle crash. If negligence is proved, the surviving family members can hold the responsible party accountable and pursue financial relief by filing a wrongful death lawsuit in a civil court. A successful lawsuit can result in compensation for medical costs, funeral expenses and other monetary losses accrued as the result of a fatal accident.
