Passenger ejected and injured due to alleged drunk driver

Roadways in the state of Nevada are dangerous enough, but when drivers impaired by alcohol take to the roadway, the chances of an accident occurring skyrocket. It's no secret that alcohol and driving do not mix. Driving under the influence of alcohol can have deadly consequences. Alcohol impairs judgment and reduces reaction time, thus escalating the odds of an accident occurring. One such recent accident involving alcohol resulted in serious injuries and left an alleged drunk driver facing serious charges.

Reports state that the two-vehicle accident was caused by an alleged drunk driver traveling at a high rate of speed. The accident happened when the driver apparently clipped the back end of another vehicle, sending the vehicle off the roadway. When the impacted vehicle skidded off the road, it overturned and, in the process, ejected a passenger.

The ejected passenger was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to authorities, the impaired driver was arrested and booked into a local jail on suspicion of DUI with an accident causing substantial bodily harm/death. The alleged drunk driver also faces several misdemeanor charges.

Despite laws, drunk and impaired drivers continue to be dangerous problems for motorists in the state of Nevada. Any auto accident is a big deal, but the ramifications can be very serious when the accident is caused by a drunk driver. Anyone who suffers serious injuries in an accident due to a drunk or impaired driver could greatly benefit from consulting an experienced personal injury attorney. Taking legal action could result in damages to help with any financial losses caused by the accident.
