Risks facing commuters in the Las Vegas area

Depending on your preferences and personality, your daily commute could be something you look forward to or something you dread. No matter the situation, though, there are certain risks you face, and this is especially true in states such as Nevada. In fact, numbers from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Highway Administration show death rates are unusually high for Nevada drivers and pedestrians. (The numbers are better for passengers.) So, if you spend a lot of time in your car, here are some things to think about:

Man files premises liability lawsuit after alleged fall

The great state of Nevada is home to a wide range of shopping outlets and malls that attract multitudes of tourists each year. Premises liability laws impose on the owners of these establishments a responsibility to keep their stores safe for patrons and visitors. Although not always expected or predictable, accidents are going to happen. Some accidents can be unavoidable and almost impossible to anticipate and expect. However, there are a lot of accidents that can be prevented by taking the necessary precautions.

Speeding greatly increases odds for car accidents

Driving these days requires constant focus and attention as roadways across the state of Nevada become more and more crowded and congested. One of the most important things drivers can do to prevent car accidents is to slow down. Recent statistics say that speeding is the number one cause of motor vehicle accidents in the United States, contributing to almost one third of all traffic related deaths. Even though there are laws against speeding and reckless driving, accidents due to speeding still occur and are often fatal.

Patience is key in preventing car wrecks

Roadways in Nevada and across America these days are crowded and fraught with peril. An increasing number of vehicles sharing the road means highways and byways quickly become congested. Road rage is becoming a real issue in today's world as increasingly impatient drivers deal with traffic jams and a host of other modern distractions. Angry and impatient drivers lead to aggressive driving maneuvers that can cause car wrecks and endanger the lives of all those around them. According to recent statistics, 66 percent of all traffic fatalities in the United States are caused by aggressive driving.

Halloween pedestrian safety in Las Vegas

Halloween is a night of chills and thrills in Las Vegas for adults and children alike. Unfortunately, though, some of the chills turn out to be real when pedestrians get injured or killed in car accidents. In fact, the pedestrian risk of fatalities doubles, and the risk of a drink-related fatality increases by 17 percent.

Car accidents involving drunk drivers are on the rise

Despite increased public awareness and education, driving under the influence of alcohol is an unfortunate problem across the state of Nevada. Driving is a privilege that should not be taken for granted, but there will always be those who irresponsibly choose to operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated. When under the influence of alcohol, driving becomes incredibly dangerous and car accidents become a very real threat. A recent Las Vegas car accident involving an alleged drunk driver sent two people to the hospital.
