Since motorcycles can be more difficult to notice than other vehicles, motorists should always be cautious and on the lookout for them when traveling or commuting. As the warmer months quickly approach in Nevada, motorcyclists will be taking to roadways across the state to enjoy warmer temperatures. This is the time of year when motorcycle accidents happen most often.

A recent Las Vegas accident ended in a motorcyclist suffering very serious injuries. The biker was traveling west on Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas during the late afternoon hours. Reports say a motorist was traveling the opposite direction, attempted to make a left turn onto Linn Lane and struck the motorcyclist.

According to police reports, the motorist claimed he did not see the motorcyclist before attempting the turn. The biker, who was originally thought to have died, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police say the motorist was cooperative, remained on the scene and did not seem impaired.

Accidents involving motorcycles typically rise this time of year as roadways across the state become congested with traffic during the upcoming warmer months. Since motorcyclists are fully exposed to the elements, motorcycle accidents commonly result in very serious injuries or death. Those in Nevada who have suffered injuries or the loss of a loved one in an accident such as this could benefit from seeking the services of an experienced attorney. Damages from a successful lawsuit could provide relief from accrued medical expenses and alleviate some of the stress and anxiety that comes with such an experience.
