Car wrecks: Head-on collision claims 2 lives

Getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle and just going for a short drive can result in a serious accident. Roadways across the state of Nevada are bustling with traffic almost 24 hours a day. Despite stringent traffic laws and updated safety measures, serious and fatal car wrecks continue to rise each year in Nevada. A head-on crash in Silver Springs recently claimed the life of two motorists.

The crash occurred on Highway 50 during the afternoon hours. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a Ford pickup truck was headed west and crossed the center line of the highway. The truck then collided head-on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling east, reports say.

Tragically, authorities say that the drivers of both vehicles were killed in the violent crash. Accident reports say that both drivers were wearing seat belts and there were no other passengers in either vehicle. The Nevada Highway Patrol is still seeking information about the crash.

Motorists need to be extra cautious as cities and towns throughout Nevada become more and more crowded. As populations increase across the state, car wrecks will also continue to increase due to greater numbers of vehicles sharing the road. Most accidents are very minor, but an increasing number of accidents are proving to be very serious or fatal. Families that have lost a loved one due to negligence in an auto accident may be able to take legal action. A successful lawsuit could provide financial relief for families facing a mountain of medical bills and end-of-life expenses.
