Automobile accidents in Nevada have risen dramatically over the last few years. Naturally, more accidents will occur as more vehicles share roadways across the state. However, a main reason for the increase in accidents is driving while under the influence of alcohol. According to recent statistics, drunk driver accidents have risen by more than 40 percent this year across the state. Unfortunately, accidents involving drunk drivers are more likely to be fatal.

A recent accident in North Las Vegas claimed the life of a motorist and left a driver facing serious charges. The crash happened just after 4 a.m. at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Washington Avenue. According to reports, a silver Lincoln sedan traveling southbound crashed into a blue Lincoln sedan that was traveling westbound at the intersection.

Reportedly, the violent collision knocked both vehicles into a brick wall. Tragically, the driver of the blue Lincoln died at the scene, authorities said. Police said the driver of the silver Lincoln was suspected of impairment and arrested. The driver was taken into custody and charged with DUI, reports said.

Driving while under the influence of alcohol is one of the most dangerous and irresponsible things a person can do. Police forces across the state of Nevada are increasing patrols and taking measures to combat the problem of drunk driving. Families who have lost loved ones in drunk driver accidents could benefit by seeking the services of a knowledgeable attorney. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in financial relief to help families recover any monetary losses that may have occurred due to this horrible experience
