The weather is great year-round in the state of Nevada. Because of the wonderful climate, outdoor activities such as jogging and biking are very popular forms of recreation. Take a drive through any Nevada city or suburb anytime during the day and it’s evident that cycling and running are favorite activities among residents here. Unfortunately, cycling or running alongside crowded roadways can also be dangerous. Due to the growing popularity of cycling, bicycle accidents have increased in recent years.

Recently, a tragic hit-and-run accident in Las Vegas claimed the life of a bicyclist. The incident happened on East Flaming Road during the afternoon hours. According to reports, the bicyclist was traveling in the bike lane when a vehicle swerved into it and struck the cyclist.

Reports say the cyclist was thrown from his bicycle and into the roadway. Reportedly, the driver left the scene of the crash but was later located in a nearby parking lot. Tragically, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and murder.

Bicycle accidents are becoming a big concern in Las Vegas and around the country. Bicyclists are totally exposed to the elements, so any vehicle versus bicycle accident has a higher chance of ending in serious injury or death. Nevada residents who have suffered injuries or loss in an accident such as this could benefit from discussions with an experienced personal injury attorney. A successful claim could result in much-needed financial relief.
