Accidents Caused by Uninsured and Underinsured Motorists

The attorneys of Ralph Schwartz law offices have helped thousands of clients recover compensation for injuries suffered in car, truck and motorcycle accidents to help rebuild their lives. We often recover compensation from a variety of sources, including uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist coverage included in our client’s auto policies.

If your accident was caused by an underinsured driver, or a driver whose insurance is not sufficient to pay your bills, your insurance policy’s underinsured motorist provision will apply.

If you were injured in a hit-and-run accident, an accident caused by a drunk driver, a motorcycle accident, a bus accident, or a taxicab accident, your uninsured motorist coverage, along with your health insurance and possibly a third-party personal injury claim may all apply to your claim for medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Do you have uninsured motorist coverage?

Many clients are surprised to find that even though they have purchased full coverage auto insurance policies, some do not provide an uninsured/underinsured motorist provision.

We encourage you to review your policy to confirm that it includes the maximum uninsured motorist coverage possible. This is inexpensive and in the case of even a moderate injury, such as a fracture or whiplash, it may be necessary if you are to get the treatment needed. If a member of your family suffers a catastrophic injury, this coverage will be essential.
